There was a time…. not so long ago… (or maybe it was like already almost 10 years now???!?!) -years before I became a boudoir photographer here in Sebastian, FL- that I really messed up a romantic night for my then fiancee. I had planned dinner for two in our new apartment, complete with a bottle of wine, garlic toast, and “homemade” spaghetti. I was so proud of myself for making dinner because hey, his mamma was an amazing cook and I couldn’t quite hold a candle to her when we started dating so I had some learning to do. My fiancee came home, sat down at my pretty dinner table, took one bite of his dinner and said “Wow. I can’t eat this.”
WOMP WOMP. Ouch.
I had forgotten some of the ingredients in my pasta "sauce," leaving it… well… pasty. So I vowed from that day on that I would never again make spaghetti sauce using only tomato paste :)
Fast forward a few years and a few hundred delicious meals later, and let’s talk Breckenridge, Colorado. Now THERE’S a romantic experience I don’t ever want to forget. It was and has been ever since, my most romantic vacation.
Gorgeous fresh falling snow to ski/snowboard on, a lodge so romantic you never want to leave, a town full of small businesses decorated with icicle lights dancing at night under the glittering snow, cozy restaurants to snuggle up inside that serve “elk” … I could go on and on. It topped all of our previous vacations, including our honeymoon, and was my most romantic vacation ever, not because of any one specific thing, but because of it ALL.
Now mind you, we were newlyweds AND trying to get pregnant, so everything was all hearts and butterflies anyway..
Ok so I actually FOUND OUT I was indeed pregnant while on our trip there... which only added to the MOST ROMANTIC VACATION EVER!! hahaha. But seriously- if you EVER have the chance to visit, book a room at Mountain Thunder Lodge, and tell them Nichole sent you! :)
