WE KNOW YOU'RE EXCITED
and most likely have a lot of questions! Here is a list of our most common FAQ's, but feel free to email us for more detailed answers!
Q: I'M NOT CONFIDENT IN MYSELF. ARE YOU SURE I CAN DO THIS?
A: YOU are the girl who NEEDS to do this! It's a huge misconception that our clients are confident and not nervous when they book, when really it's the total opposite! Most clients book a session because they want to regain a piece of feminine power they feel they've lost; their confidence! Our goal is to help you get it back!
Q: HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK MY SHOOT?
A: I recommend that women have their shoot date scheduled for at least 2 months prior to needing the finished product in-hand. Our dates tend to book up very quickly and relatively far in advance (typically a few months). That being said, DON'T WAIT to email us! It's never to early to get on the schedule. Your photo reveal will be 2 weeks or more after your photo session, and your finished product (depending on what you order) will be ready for pick up in 3-4 weeks.
Q: I HAVE NO ONE TO GIVE THESE TO. IS IT WEIRD TO DO THIS JUST FOR ME?
A: Absolutely not! A boudoir session is ALL for you! Even if you're in a relationship, our clients tend to be happier with their photos when they start the experience for the purpose of finding self love, versus doing photos as a gift.
Q. HOW MUCH CAN I EXPECT TO SPEND?
A. There is a $350 nonrefundable session retainer that is required to book your date. Prints and products are additionally purchased. Please email us for more info!
Q: WILL MY PHOTOS BE SHARED ONLINE?
A: Only with your written permission. Although our boudoir business thrives on word of mouth, we are also known for complete discretion. Some women allow all of their photos to be shared, some would prefer to remain anonymous (like only showing their booty or midsection without their face), and others would like complete privacy. Rest easy knowing that images shared online or on social media are only done so after we have written permission from each client.
Q: WHEN AND HOW WILL I CHOOSE MY FAVORITE PHOTOS FROM MY SHOOT?
A: At NMB, we offer in person reveal/ordering appointments a few weeks after your session. Because we show a lot of finalized images, it can be overwhelming to choose your favorites! That's were we come in, and why the in person reveal is so important. It's also our favorite part of the process, because we get to see your reaction to your photos up close and personal!
For our travelers: Many of our clients travel in from a distance to work with us (which we are so honored to say!), so we do offer Skype reveal sessions for out of area clients.
Q: WHERE WILL MY SHOOT TAKE PLACE?
A: In our beautiful studio, located in the Village Square in Sebastian, FL. It's chic, pretty, and we even have our windows covered in privacy glass so no peeping Toms allowed- Ha! Your safety and privacy is our main concern. Take a peek around the studio by clicking here.
Q: I'M NOT SURE I WANT TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED NUDE, BUT I'D STILL LIKE A SESSION WITH YOU. IS THAT OK?
A: Yes, of course! While we want to focus on your unique body and believe that "less [clothing] is more," we'd never expect you to do anything you're uncomfortable with! If you're ready to take it to the next level at any time during your shoot, just say so! You'll also notice that we don't utilize cheesy props, so you can go ahead and leave the fishing pole at home ;)
Q: WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
A: All clients who book receive our exclusive NMB wardrobe guide that walks you through how to design the outfits for your shoot. We also have a *limited* client wardrobe in house with a few basic pieces for you to borrow.
Q: I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO PREPARE FOR THIS. HOW CAN YOU HELP?
A: We've got your back girl! Again, our experience is a really special one, and you get what you pay for! We'll be emailing you multiple times before your session with checklists of what to bring, how to prep, etc. You'll have all your questions answered before you show up. I'd never leave you in the dark!
Q: CAN YOU EDIT MY [INSERT INSECURITY HERE]?
A: Something that becomes a touchy subject is whether or not a photographer chooses to "photoshop" their clients. Without going into a huge amount of detail, here is a simple breakdown of the editing process we use for every single client.
Non-permanent skin issues. Photoshop can be used to minimize the look of bruises, acne, scratches, etc. Scars and birthmarks are left alone unless specifically asked to be removed by the client.
Wardrobe malfunctions. If your bra is a tad too tight on your shoulder and "pinches" the skin, or a tag is showing on the back of your lingerie, this can usually be fixed in post processing. During your shoot, we'll pay super close attention to details and typically catch these issues so we don't have to spend extra time editing them.
Skin smoothing. We want your photos to accentuate the best you, and for this reason each client does receive light skin smoothing to reduce redness and even out skin tone. Tan lines can be difficult to fix without making the skin look doctored, and are typically left unedited.
